1.      Center for Research and Technology Transfer, Nong Lam University - Ho Chi Minh City is an institution  under Nong Lam University - Ho Chi Minh City.

2.      History

a) Research Center for Applied Science in Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, University of Agriculture and Forestry was established by Decision number 332/QD-TCCB dated 14.03.1990 of University and High School Department of Professional and Vocational Training in the merger of Practice and Experiment Camp and Board Life Production of the University of Agriculture IV.

b) The Center registered for technology operations under Decree dated 01.28.1992 35/HDBT, The management of science, technology and environment are provided Certificate No. 485 dated 19/07/1996 by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment.

c) To expand the field of operation and to meet the needs of actual production, in 2002 the Center was changed into Center for Science and Technology Transfer by Ministry of Education and Training under Decision No. 3906/QĐ-BGD&ĐT-TCCB dated August 27, 2002.

3.      The Center is a public service unit with a legal status, an independent accounting, a seal and a separate account, under the direct management of Nong Lam University - Ho Chi Minh City.

4.      The Center was equipped with the initial facilities by Nong Lam University – Ho  Chi Minh City; the Center ensures the funds by the capital besides the state budget.

English name: CENTER FOR RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER, NONG LAM UNIVERSITY

The name of the Center was written on the decision on establishment of the Center, the seal, the sign the transaction papers of the Center.

IV. Mission

1. The Center gathers faculty and researchers in Vietnam and abroad for research and technology transfer in order to improve the efficiency of Vietnam’s agricultural production.

a) Research: Research and application of scientific and technological advances to improve the efficiency of production of agriculture, forestry, preservation and processing, machines and equipment, waste treatment, renewable energy production, deflation greenhouse gas emissions. Research in agricultural production systems appropriate in rural southeastern provinces. Research in mechanical equipment manufacture in industy and agriculture, machines for processing and storage of Agriculture and Forestry Production and Research in seedlings for production. Research in farming system without waste water, environmental pollution reduction. Research in livestock system protecting to produce clean products.

b) Training: Training practice, forging skills for students of the University. Technical training for technicians, extension workers at the local level. The Center is  allowed by the University to use the facilities of the Centre to train students for master and doctorate degrees in Southeast Asia through the activities of the international cooperation program MEKARN funded by Sweden.

c) Services: Consulting and deploying engineering applications to production agencies; performing services for the comprehensive development of all aspects (culture - physics - art) of students at the Center, students and all officials at the Nong Lam University – HCM City.

d) Producing and testing  veterinar,  planting and mechanical preparations appropriate for Vietnam ecological conditions.

e) Producing plants and animals, varieties of organic fertilizers and microbial and agricultural machines.

f) Manufacturing products and preparations for agriculture, forestry and fisheries, seedlings, machinery engineering and agricultural and seafood processing, both in vocational training and manufacturing operations.

2. Implementing organizational planning and development plans appropriate for  organizational planning and educational development plans of the country, the locals and the University.

3. Building facilities and techniques to meet the requirements on activities of the Centre with the President’s approval of Nong Lam University -  Ho Chi Minh City for approval.

4. Managing finance and property of the Center according to the University’s provisions and law.

5. Performing other missions as prescribed by law.
